Should the government be giving millions to big corporations like Tesla?

With companies like Tesla asking for tens or even hundreds of millions in government funding, an age-old debate is bubbling back to the surface. Large corporations pour plenty of money back into the economy, but there's also a question of whether those dollars could be better spent elsewhere.
