The colossal squid is the world’s heaviest invertebrate, although it had never been captured on camera until earlier this year. The squid, which was only a juvenile, was recorded around 2,000 feet underwater near the South Sandwich Islands, east of Argentina, in the southern Atlantic Ocean.
